I don't know how true this is considering that it's from Fox and they pretty much don't understand the concept of the truth,  but I find this absolutely hilarious in a tragic kind of way;

The Curious Case of Afghan Men Who Sleep with Men, But Aren't 'Gay'

Brought to you by the wonderful Gays of Daytime.

Yes there's all kinds of things to be said about women and male driven societies, but leaving that aside because it bores me to tears I find it interesting that the argument about what makes you gay or not is pretty much the same no matter where you go.

All right, back to reading X-Men slash.

Days 4-8

Dec. 9th, 2009 12:29 am
Just catching up. I was in NYC all weekend without my computer and then I was just lazy Sunday night and yesterday. So lots of insanity today. Still haven't watched Merlin. I'll get to it tomorrow, maybe.

The weekend was fine. Weather was shitty all day Saturday. Sadly no snow, just rain. And there's nothing on the ground here. Boo. Almost makes me wish I was still in Vermont. We barely left the apartment. Got ridiculously stoned Saturday morning and then again that night. Two weeks without weed makes me crazy. Or whatever strain that was. All of my insecurities came out. I apparently have a lot of problems with The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Oh well.

Day 01 → Your favourite song
Day 02 → Your favourite movie
Day 03 → Your favourite television program

Day 04 → Your Favourite Book )

Day 05 → Your Favourite Quote )

Day 06 → Whatever Tickles Your Fancy )

Day 07 → A Photo That Makes You Happy )
Day 08 → A Photo That Makes You Angry/Sad )

I could post Day 9 too since it technically already is, but I think I've given you enough.
OMG! They are way too adorable for words. I'm so so so happy DeRo is back. Why the writers ever decided these two characters didn't belong together I'll never understand.

CHEMISTRY PEOPLE!

Episode 3 review. Lots of plot. I have lots of Ianto.

It's the Jack and Ianto Show!!!! )

MOAR! MOAR! MOAR! MOAR!

Here's my review and response to episode 2. Heavy on the screencaps. Heavy on the Ianto. You've been warned. :D

Though if I have to warn for Ianto, then I don't think you're paying close enough attention.

Ianto FTW! also NSFW Jack )

Is it tomorrow yet!? I need MOOORREEEE!!!!

I had to watch the episode a second time just to make sure this was somewhat coherent. Otherwise it would have been something to the affect of SQUEE BOYKISSING SQEEE DED.

So here you are, screencaps and all.

There is potentially nothing intelligent behind this cut )
It's probably a good thing that we don't have to wait another week for a new episode cause I don't think I could handle it.

HAPPY TORCHWOOD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I never thought this day would come.

Also I'm sure most of you Merlin people have seen the behind the scenes thing. Anyone with me that Colin Morgan should wear black AAAALLLLLLL the time?

My friend and I just spent the last 10 minutes sending pictures back and forth of Pete Wentz's ass and dick and him making out with boys. And then he told me he's been jerking off to pictures of Mr. Wentz since he was 17.

I love this boy to death. LOL

I also love a boy in tight skinny jeans and eyeliner.
The desktop on my laptop was a huge hit at the Merlin meetup yesterday. But now it's even better.

Go check out [livejournal.com profile] deedeedee123 to get some pretty for yourself.

I've been in like a month long Twitter conversation with Larry Sullivan. For those of you who are gay movie buffs, he plays Alan in The Trip.

Also I had an awesome weekend in the city. I'm on my way home from Target with my grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. It was not a wise decision. I'm too tired to deal with my grandmother's insanity right now.

I am going to crash on the couch in front of my tv and spend the night with Merlin and True Blood. :D

Chris Pine in drag = WIN

I'm off to the city tonight. It's been too long since I've been out of this house. Looks to be a good night

I have one thing to say.

Go the FUCK away Adam Lambert!

In fact if American Idol could just go away in general I'd be a lot happier as a person. It's just a glorified karaoke contest. You want to listen to a gay artist with talent? Listen to this.

It's 4:30 in the morning and I'm losing my mind. I tried to go to sleep an hour ago and I was very unsuccessful. I was trying to recreate the amazing dream I had about Alex Skarsgard last night.  MMMMmmmm....

Anyway now I'm sitting here listening to the birds, which I absolutely canNOT stand.

I did however get the sudden idea to rewatch the McDean sunset ending clips. I miss those boys. Though if TPTB over at VL keep giving us scenes like the one below then I think I'll be ok.

OMG

So I wanted to watch Summerstorm, but my DVD player decided it only wanted to play the sound. So I moved onto something else.

I'm rewatching a little movie called Love and Other Disasters with the adorable Matthew Rhys. There's a little character in this movie called Paolo who looks very familiar to me and it's not because I've seen this movie like fifteen times.

A little check over at imdb and it turns out to be none other than Santiago. FUCKING. Cabrera.

Otherwise known as Lancelot to all my fellow Merlin fans out there.

That's all I really have to say. :D

*fails at having a Lancelot icon*

A meme...

Name your fifteen absolutely favorite couples (het/slash/canon/fanon) and ask people to see what trend they notice about your couples. Try to pick different fandoms.

1. Daria-Trent/Daria
2. Roswell-Michael/Maria
3. Harry Potter-Harry/Ginny
4. Harry Potter-Ron/Hermione
5. Crossing Jordan-Woody/Jordan
6. Torchwood-Jack/Ianto
7. The History Boys-Scripps/Posner
8. SGA-Sheppard/Lorne
9. SG-1/SGA-Lorne/Mitchell
10. Verbotene Liebe-Christian/Olli
11.Hollyoaks-JP/Craig
12.Greek-Calvin/Heath
13. Merlin-Arthur/Merlin
14. Generation Kill-Brad/Nate
15. RPS-Bradley James/Colin Morgan

I don't know if there's actually any trend, but I will tell you that there is something intentional about that list....

As someone who lives and has gone to school in two states where gay marriage was legalized in the last year, this crap in California has reached a level of ridiculousness that I just can't stand.

The world has not ended, pigs have not started to fly and if hell existed it has not frozen over. In the immortal words of the Stonewall project: Gay people exist, get the FUCK over it. Move on and deal with your own failing relationships and marriages and stop worrying about everyone else's.

THE END.

ETA: For some reason LJ decided to mess everything up. This is what the list should actually look like.
...make for a good night in my book. Being off my anti-depressant for a week was an interesting experience. I don't know if it was the tiny white pill or the actual movie that made the following review.

So I FINALLY managed to see Were the World Mine. Last I heard it was supposed to have come out on DVD sometime this  month, but when checking on Amazon I saw that it's not until June 9. BUT I noticed that it's available for digital rental and download. So I caved and spent the 4 bucks and rented it.

Holy CRAP!

Shakespeare should only be performed in a way that is gay, campy and musically inclined. (See Hamlet 2)

It's not perfect, but sometimes you just need to take a movie for what it is and appreciate it. I also think it would work really fantastically on the stage.

The music fits it perfectly. And those fit boys in sparkly shorts aren't too bad either.

Download the soundtrack here.
Afterelton.com can get me to watch anything. They posted a review about last night's episode of Lie to Me, of which my knowledge was vague. I have to say that I liked the gay storyline and wanted more, though I wasn't impressed with the show as a whole and won't be watching again. Caden's last scene was heartbreaking and now all I want is Caden/Dante fluff and it is nowhere to be found. WOE!

Back to watching the Yanks on NESN. I can't wait to be back in a zipcode that gets YES.

Southland

Apr. 24th, 2009 02:58 pm

So I've been catching up on Southland this week which I've been meaning to do since the pre-air was released. Anyway for the most part I genuinely like it and am intrugued by Cooper'a character. My only problems with it are that all the bleeped out words are distracting. It's really about time that american television puts a watershed policy in place. My only other problem has less to do with the show than that I grew up around cops so all the stuff about police explorers was a bit close to home. And actually hilarious because my mom tried to get me to join the exploders (her nickname for them) from about the age of 12. But since I hate cops and had no desire to be one that didn't exactly happen.

There was a great comment in afterelton's review of the last ep that Cooper may be the gay character everyone has been waiting for on American network TV. I hope they're right.
