It's been a rough week for mortality in Yankee land.

RIP George Steinbrenner & Bob Sheppard

And while I'm immortalizing people. One of my favorite bands called it quits yesterday. They had one of the most original sounds I've heard in quite some time and the music world is losing something very special. I'm really glad I splurged to own all their material on vinyl.

RIP Envy On The Coast
It's taken me almost two days to come to terms with Sunday's Big Love. Afterelton pretty much summed up all I have to say.

I understand the point the writers are trying to make, but I think both the story potential and that point could have been made without going down that route. I'm gonna miss Alby being crazy in love. It was the most refreshing part of the whole show. But then I never started watching it for Bill.

It's snowing again here. I know most people are sick and tired of winter and the cold, but it's never really bothered me. The only thing I hate about winter is the lack of baseball, but it doesn't matter because pitchers and catchers report tomorrow!! :DDDDD

Yes, I'm entirely too excited about that.

Is anyone else not watching the Olympics? I'll be watching tomorrow night for Shaun White, but that's it. I hate worldwide sporting events. The nationalism behind them is something that's always bothered me. Then again nationalism in general bothers me.
So the highlights of my weekend were circle jerking with four people in my friend's basement with three bowls (silly me for not carrying mine around for all occasions) and a blunt at 5 in the morning while her mom was in the kitchen right above us and once again not sleeping in my own bed.

Oh and MY FUCKING NEW YORK YANKEES WON THE FUCKING PENNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you like my new OTP?

THE "WE'RE STILL HERE" FRIENDING MEME!

That's all for now. I'm still recovering from that Yankee game. WOW.
My friend and I ended up IMing each other while we were both watching the ep, so I actually have some coherent thoughts. They're under the cut to save your flists and in case you either don't care or haven't seen it yet.

Glee 1x02 )

I didn't see the preview for the rest of the season because I had to switch over to YES to see if Derek Jeter would pass Lou Gehrig for the most hits in Yankee history. He walked, but they won. I really wish I could have been at the Stadium tonight. I should look for tickets for Friday. Hmmm...

"He's one of the classiest people to ever play this game," Jeter said during an on-field, postgame television interview pumped over the stadium public address system."It's just kind of mind-boggling to have my name next to his."

I don't know what kind of karma I have, but apparently it's not good. Ever since we had that Internet outage last week my laptop has been fucked up. I don't ever use Firefox unless I'm creating PDFs and it was being such an asshole for no reason. Then iTunes decided it didn't want to open and wouldn't tell me why, it just failed to open and gave me a blank error message. Last night I was trying to fix it because I was planning on making some CDs for my cousins. For some reason when I tried to download iTunes it wouldn't do it, so I restarted my computer and then it wouldn't fully reboot. It still won't. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to convince my mom to take me to the Apple store on Thursday after my dentist appointment so that I can see what's wrong with it.

UGHHHHH! I don't know why these things always happen to me.

I also woke up this morning at like 5:15 feeling like crap. I don't know if it's my gallbladder or what, but it's not a good thing since we're going to Coney Island today. But the really exciting thing is that I'm staying in the city because I'm going to see JAY BRANNAN tomorrow night!!! I've been attempting to do this for over a year and I'm sooooo pumped it's finally happening.

Full report when I get back home. And then it's off to Baltimore to see the Red Sox play the Orioles. It wasn't my choice, obviously, or we'd be seeing the Yankees but no one cares what I think.

WHOOO!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO MARIANO RIVERA!!!

500 CAREER SAVES!

and his 1st RBI.

ALSO....SWEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Afterelton.com can get me to watch anything. They posted a review about last night's episode of Lie to Me, of which my knowledge was vague. I have to say that I liked the gay storyline and wanted more, though I wasn't impressed with the show as a whole and won't be watching again. Caden's last scene was heartbreaking and now all I want is Caden/Dante fluff and it is nowhere to be found. WOE!

Back to watching the Yanks on NESN. I can't wait to be back in a zipcode that gets YES.

Well I'm bored so I'm going to talk to all you nonexistent people.  Finals are really starting to be a pain at 8 in the morning.  I have absoultely no motivation to study for them so I end up waking up at 5 or some other ungodly hour to prepare and then I'm like falling asleep in the middle of them.  Thank god I only have one left, even though it's not until Friday and it's now Tuesday. Seriously it's time to go home.  I did just get up from a three and half hour nap which was nice, except for the construction going on ouside my window.  That'll also be nice to get away from.

What else can I ramble on about today?  Yankees are playing thier home opener against the Red Sox tonight.  That will probably take up at least some of my time and frustration tonight, though with Idol it'll be a toss up.

Well I guess I really didn't have as much to say as I thought I did.  Maybe I'll just go back to sleep, try and recapture the lovely dirty dreams I had a few nights ago involving Rupert and a very small bed.  Or find some nice fics to read. We'll see.

Til tonight and Idol reactions
