I thought it was time for something resembling a real update.
  •  I suppose the biggest thing is that my roommate/friend Ashley and I adopted a cat. I'm not a huge fan of cats, I really prefer dogs, but she loves them and they pretty much take care of themselves so whatever. I think we're still planning on getting a dog around Christmas time though. Here are some pictures of Davey, the 5 month old kitten.
  • Fandom business:
    • MERLIN: I don't really have much to say about the last few episodes, or really about the season in general. I fear if I think about it too deeply my brain might aneurysm and not in a good way. I generally overall did like Gwaine and Elena though. And the boys bantering is also amusing and adorable. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the back half of the series.
    • FRINGE: I've said it before and I'll say it again. THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION. ANYWHERE. One of the things I really love about this season is the difference between the two universes and when we're in the AU you can really tell how amazing the dynamic was the first two seasons. How those characters really related to each other and allowed them to work together. It doesn't have the same feel to it with those in the AU. I'm sure there's parts about that sentence that I could talk about for days, but it's not really that important. On a basic level it's still the best show you're probably not watching.
    • THE BIG BANG THEORY: Zazzles? Really Sheldon? Really JIM? If I didn't think/know either of you were gay before that certainly sealed the deal. Thursday's episode was kind of weak, but I've been loving this season so far.
    • RAISING HOPE: I have a really hard time with American comedy shows. In that I don't like them. TBBT is the only one I can watch and really get into. Even Community, which I sort of liked, I only watched 4 episodes of. But for some reason I'm into this one. I don't know if it's the concept, or that the guy is ridiculously adorable. Or it could just be Martha Plimpton and Cloris Leachman. Something. Anyway.
    • OTHER SHOWS: I've been keeping up with Bones and House this season, just for something to watch in the morning really. All I have to really say about them is WHERE IS ALL THE REACTION TO THAT FUCKING JERSEY SHORE EPISODE? Where!? It was quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever sat though. Unless I actually watched Jersey Shore. WTF. Never again Bones. Never.
  • Cat pictures (never in my life did I think I would type that, at least in relation to myself):

He's vaguely rabbit like, no?

Okay, either going to spend some time reading The Liar or start watching Rubicon.
First a letter:

Dear Colin Morgan, I love your face but I severely dislike your short hair. No you know what? I take that back. I HATE it. Really really hate it. It's awful and I want to kill it. KTHX Love, Me

Now on to other things:

1.) ENVY ON THE COAST FAREWELL PT 1 TONIGHT!  Why part 1? Because I am insane and when they added a second show I bought a ticket to that as well.

Anybody ever gone to a concert by yourself? This is the first time I'm doing it, but I expect it to happen a lot more in the future so we'll see how it goes. I really need friends who care about more of my music.

2.) My life makes no sense to me right now. I haven't even been in the city for a week yet and I already feel like my life has changed into something slightly more adult. It feels right though. Eric and Lance are redoing their apartment and it looks amazing. We all hate this phrase, but we do all feel like we're growing up.

3.) We're still us though. We're still ridiculous and tell that's what she said jokes all night long. And we've for some reason also reverted back to college where we're drinking cheap vodka and scraping down the res on our bowls. Oh and doing dirty madlibs and watching awful 90s gay porn.

4.) Like I said. My life makes no sense.

5.) Is anybody else feeling withdrawals from TBBT? Or do I just rewatch it too much? It's seriously like my drug...well my other drug. I have a feeling that show is going to go down in my archives as the Golden Girls of my generation. Or at least the way I feel about it. Could watch it on repeat forever and not get sick of it, just want more.

6.) Just came across a DVDRip of Wild Target. YAY for more Rupert Grint and Martin Freeman in my life.

Big Love:
-Not much to say besides Alby is insane and I totally love him for it. People seem to not like his character this season, but I think they're failing to realize he really wasn't one before now. He had potential and now we're finally getting to see it.
-Bill's storyline continues to bore me to tears.
-I want them to go there with Ben and Margene so bad. It's needed to happen since Season 1.

Greek:
-No gay this week makes me a sad girl.
-IDK what it is about this show. It never excites me to no end but I also can't hate it. It's a very strange position for me.

Big Bang Theory:
-I just smiled the whole way through this episode.
-I don't understand why Jim Parsons doesn't get nominated for more awards. Or win them. He is ALWAYS on point.
-Someone tell Johnny to cut his hair. It's starting to scare me.

I tried to watch HIMYM for Swish, but I just couldn't. I don't know what it is about that show, but I really just hate it. I love NPH and Alyson but there's something about it that really doesn't work for me. I don't find it funny at all.

And on to the best news: Lost will soon be over and I WILL NEVER HAVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT AGAIN. Hopefully Heroes is next.

Is anyone watching Spartacus? I tried to watch the screeners that leaked, both the shitty and good quality, and it just seems awful. According to Lucy Lawless it doesn't hit it's stride until Episode 5, but I hesitate in actually believing that.

I'm not sure I want the answer but what's with all the Rachel Maddow/Keith Olbermann RPF at the Porn Battle? With the exception of Colin and Bradley, this is why I've always stayed away from RPS. There's not many things that squick me out, but that is definitely one of them.

Day 3-TV

Day 01 → Your favourite song
Day 02 → Your favourite movie

Day 03 → Your favourite television program

This is actually really hard to choose. If you asked me a year ago I probably would have answered with Torchwood, but since the complete failure that was CoE that's no longer my answer. I generally think that sitcoms are pretty awful. Most of them follow that pattern of ugly fat comedian who's not really that funny married to a gorgeous wife with their 2.5 children. Terrible. But two of my favorite shows of all time are both sitcoms. Thankfully neither of them follow that pattern.

The Big Bang Theory

I had this ridiculous hatred of CBS as a kid, nothing that was ever on that channel was good. I hated it all. I still hate most of it. But this show never would have survived on any other network I don't think. It wasn't last year during Christmas break that I decided to give it a shot. I instantly fell in love. This show never fails to cheer me up, not to mention the fact that it plays into just how much of a dork I am. The fact that I loved Johnny Galecki in Roseanne when I was a kid has almost nothing to do with it.

I'm not a part of the fandom for this show because I can't behind any of the ships. The only thing I can get behind is gay!Sheldon. I am however loving the old married couple vibe that Raj and Howard have this season. Howard with anyone kind of turns my stomach. Though I could happily slash both Raj and Sheldon with OMCs.

Have some clips:

Sorry for the lack of Encino Man in a loincloth )

And I have to mention The Golden Girls because I've been watching it since I was a little kid and I still love it. I can watch episodes over and over again and never get sick of them. I've probably watched the whole series over the last month or so and it's kind of shocking how gay this show actually is. Almost every episode something is mentioned and there's gay characters throughout. It makes me love the show and these women even more.

Offiically more progressive in 1985 than New York State. )

HOLY HELL!

Tonight's Big Bang Theory was FUCKING EPIC!

SRSLY if you're not watching this show, what the hell is wrong with you!? It's the only comedy worth watching IMO.

I love Penny & Sheldon's psuedo-friendship, but if the show really goes in that direction I will not be happy. I'm convinced Sheldon's gay and just doesn't know it. Kind of like Arthur was until Merlin came along.

Oh and for all you Twitter people, NPH officially has an account now. @actuallyNPH Follow him now!
OMG YEEESSSS!!!

THE FINAL CHAPTER OF EASY THERE WAS JUST POSTED.

I HOPE YOU MERLIN PEOPLE ARE READING THIS!

GO. HERE. NOW.

Pissed Jim Parsons didn't win an Emmy. Though NPH is awesome. Generation Kill better win or things are gonna get ugly.

Stolen from [profile] its_elaine. I needed something to distract me from this 15 inning Yankee/Red Sox game. The mind boggles.

Pick your five favorite TV shows (in no particular order) and answer the following questions. Don't cheat!
1. Torchwood
2. Merlin
3. True Blood
4. The Big Bang Theory
5. Greek

01. Who's your favourite character in 2?
Probably Merlin. Cause how can you resist that face?

02. Who's your least favourite character in 1?
Gwen. Let's face it. It's always been the Gwen show. COE just proved it.

03. What's your favourite episode of 4?
The Barbarian Sublimation. Gay!Sheldon FTW!

04. What's your favourite season of 5?
Hmm...I have a feeling it's going to be the season coming up. I can't wait for more Calvin/Grant.

05. Who is your favourite ship in 3?
I don't have one. I ship Alex Skarsgard. That's pretty much it. LOL

06. Who is your antiship in 2?
If my understanding of that term is correct...Anything het.

07. How long have you watched 1?
Forever. Either in the middle of Series 1 or right after it aired. But I'm done now.

08. How did you become interested in 3?
It's all about the ASkars. I only watch it for him.

09. Who's your favourite actor/actress in 4?
I loved Johnny Galecki since Roseanne, but I gotta say that Jim Parsons steals that show.

10. Which do you prefer: Show 1 or 2 or 5?
Torchwood has been the biggest fandom in my life for over three years. It's hard to let something like that go. Merlin helps, but Greek is the show I can just watch episodes of.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
TW since it has more eps.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Leslie. She's just awesome.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 1?
I don't have to. RTD already did.

14. Give a random quote from 1?
"The world's about to end. Let's all go have sex."

15? 15?

16. Would a 3/4 crossover work?
HAHA. Maybe if it was ComicCon.

17. Pair 2 characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple.
Ianto/PC Andy. I always wanted to see them work together. Sadly it never happened.

18. Has 5 inspired you in any way?
Not really no.

19. Overall, which show has a better cast, 2 or 4?
As for casting for characters I think TBBT wins but I love the cast of Merlin so much more.

20. Which has better theme music, 3 or 5?
Does Greek even have theme music? Guess I gotta go with TB. Though I really don't like the opening.
