Went to go see HBP at midnight last night with my friend Shaina. I should have done this when I got home, but it was already 3:30 when I got home and into bed.

  •  We got to the mall/theater around 9:30ish to get tickets since there was no online ordering. We got our tickets and went back out to the car for an hour or so where we were really classy and watched an episode of True Blood on my laptop.
  • We went inside and they were already letting people in at 11, which I've never seen them do before but it was probably a good thing.
  • We ended up in the third row. Some 12 year old bitch cut me in line in the bathroom and I avoided talking to a girl I went to high school with.
  • I don't know if this girl had to Tourette's or what, but she kept yelling ridiculous things out. How much time was left, Lupin/Tonks, Harry Potter. I was really close from telling them to take a Xanax and sit the fuck down
  • I also overheard some straight guy make some comment about how Ron just came down Harry's throat. I turned to Shaina and told here that I know quite a few people for who would love to see that.
  • Movie started late, about 15 minutes. Saw some ridiculous promos. I do love a good disaster movie though. Bring on 2012. I can't wait to see it.
  • I kept hearing things about 'changes' and that the movie didn't follow the book and I was a bit worried. It's been a couple years since I've read it. Before DH came out I think, so I'm only clear on a couple things that were wrong. Have to go back and read and see it again.
  • Generally, Dan and Emma didn't annoy me much in this movie. I don't know if it was because they weren't giving all these speeches or what, but they were ok for the most part. Emma still acts with her eyebrows and Dan's still twitchy, though.
  • MY RUPERT was awesome as he usually is. I could lick up and down his arms all day long. LOL
  • I'm pretty sure I was grinning like a LOON everytime he came on screen.
  • Is Jim Broadbent always drunk or is that just his acting style?
  • It's sad that Michael Gambon finally got Dumbledore right and then his character died.
  • BUT with that knitting magazine. I laughed my ass off. That was awesome.
  • I thought the boys who played the two young Tom Riddle's did an awesome job. Much better than what's his face in COS. Though that might just be the writing.
  • Tom Felton OWNED Emo!Draco. I knew he would, but seriously he's awesome.
  • I love Bonnie Wright though I would have loved to have seen that scene in the book where she says that Harry's got a tattoo.
  • I actually would have loved that whole thing to have been accurate. I wanted the scene in the book where Ron finds Ginny and Dean in a hallway, but the way they did it was ok I guess. Though giving Alfie a line or two would have been nice.
  • And giving Matt a few more would have been awesome too, you know. They're wasting all these people in the background.
  • I'm really surprised they didn't do the funeral scene. It's just the kind of epic insanity the HP like.
  • And the WAND, the WAND. You fucking idiots! The wand can't just be lying on his desk. You can't even be in his office. MAJOR MAJOR mistake.
  • The Burrow. WTF!? I knew it was gonna happen, but now I just want to know why. That scene was completely pointless.
  • I do love the Twins though. I want more of them and their joke shop.
  • Overall, I wanted to be more impressed. I don't know if it was the extra 6 month wait thanks to Fucking Twilight, but I wanted to come out in awe and I didn't. Maybe I need a few days to re-read the book and see it again.
  • I'm not one of those people who can really clearly separate canon between the books and films. I love the books so much and there is so much detail and connective tissue of information that I want the films to do them justice and they never do. They've gotten better, but there are things I want to see and didn't that make me really depressed.

I'll leave you with my current favorite picture of Rupert.

I'm almost nervous to see it because I want to love it, but I've heard very mixed things about it.

I hate Ron, but I love Rupert, he's awesome. Just like Bonnie, IDEK why but I love Bonnie, but I hate¹²³²²¹² Ginny. Emma and Daniel just annoying me too much u.ú But I love them like Harry and Hermione. Rupert did great on movie \o/ just like Tom! The people who did great on the movie were Rupert, Tom, Helena, Alan, the guy who did Slughorn and the lady who did Narcisa. Just them! I don't like Gambon like Dumbledore, so I'll don't give my opinion.

I think that's why I'm always a bit disappointed with the movies. I love the books so much and it always feels like the movie doesn't do them justice. And I agree - there were some completely pointless scenes that could have been cut out and they could have given us Dumbledore's funeral or even a fight at the end. It seemed like it was no excitement - more like a filler movie so that they can move along to DH.
